Gulf Air to offer free Starlink Wi-Fi by 2026

Gulf Air, the national airline of Bahrain, has announced plans to introduce Starlink high-speed internet across its entire fleet starting mid-2026. This initiative will provide complimentary Wi-Fi to passengers from boarding to arrival, significantly enhancing the in-flight experience. The agreement was signed by Gulf Air CEO Martin Gauss and Starlink Aviation's Global Head Nick Seitz at Awal Private Terminal, with key industry figures in attendance.

The introduction of Starlink, engineered by SpaceX, will allow passengers to stream, game, work, and stay connected with loved ones during their flights. "Introducing Starlink across Gulf Airโ€™s fleet demonstrates our commitment to enhancing the passenger experience," said Gulf Air Group Chairman Khalid Hussain Taqi. He emphasised that the advanced connectivity supports Bahrainโ€™s digital transformation goals and empowers cabin crew to deliver exceptional service.

The first Gulf Air A320 equipped with Starlink is expected to enter service by mid-2026, with a fleet-wide rollout to follow. This move positions Bahrain as a forward-looking aviation hub, where technology and passenger experience are at the forefront of air travel innovation. Gauss highlighted that the service will be available to all passengers, regardless of cabin or ticket type, reinforcing Gulf Air's commitment to providing premium connectivity.

Gulf Air, established in 1950, operates to over 50 destinations and has been recognised as a "Five-Star Major Airline" by APEX for 2026. The airline's fleet includes Boeing 787 Dreamliners and Airbus A320/A321 aircraft.
