Turkish Airlines has finalised a landmark agreement with Boeing for up to 150 Boeing 737 MAX aircraft, marking a significant step in its long-term growth strategy. The deal, which has been in discussions since 2025, represents the airline's largest ever single-aisle aircraft order and aims to bolster its short- and medium-haul network.

The agreement was concluded in the presence of Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, President of Türkiye, and includes 100 firm orders for the Boeing 737-8, with options for an additional 50 aircraft. The deal also provides substitution rights for the Boeing 737-10, offering Turkish Airlines flexibility to meet increasing passenger demand.

"This agreement marks another significant step in the continued expansion of our fleet," said Turkish Airlines Chairman of the Board and the Executive Committee, Murat Şeker. "The new Boeing 737 MAX aircraft will bring greater efficiency and flexibility to our operations."

Boeing Commercial Airplanes CEO Stephanie Pope commented, "This order reflects the trust and shared vision that have defined our long-standing partnership with Turkish Airlines."

The new aircraft will enhance Turkish Airlines' operations on high-demand routes, with the Boeing 737-8 offering a 20% reduction in emissions and fuel consumption. Currently, Turkish Airlines operates over 200 Boeing aircraft, including the 737 MAX and 787 Dreamliner.

Additionally, Turkish Airlines and Boeing have signed a strategic Memorandum of Understanding on Industrial Participation, focusing on skill development, value creation, and business awards, further strengthening their partnership and supporting Türkiye's aviation ecosystem.
