TFE Hotels has announced the opening of its first Adina apartment-style hotel in Hobart, marking the brand's debut in Tasmania. This expansion comes as the state experiences record visitor numbers, with 1.36 million tourists welcomed in 2025. The new 48-key Adina Hobart, inspired by the natural beauty of Tasmanian eucalypt forests, offers a blend of contemporary design and flexible accommodation options.
Located within the same development as the 142-key Vibe Hobart, the Adina hotel provides guests with access to amenities such as the Belvedere restaurant and bar, conferencing facilities, a pool, and a gym. TFE Hotels’ Group Chief Operating Officer, Chris Sedgwick, highlighted the growing demand for apartment-style hotels, stating, “As we expand our global footprint, we’re seeing increasing demand for apartment style hotels that offer the space, flexibility, and contemporary design that Adina does so well.”
Owners Richard and Annalisa Doedens have played a pivotal role in the hotel's design, ensuring it reflects both Tasmanian aesthetics and Adina's brand ethos. Richard Doedens noted, “With Adina Hobart, we wanted to craft a hotel that feels intrinsically connected to Tasmania.”
The hotel features studios and one- and two-bedroom apartments, catering to extended stays and design-savvy travellers. General Manager Jamie Capp emphasised the importance of apartment-style accommodation in supporting Hobart's visitor economy, stating, “Apartment-style stays are increasingly important to the visitor economy because they encourage extended travel and support local operators.”
