Air Serbia is set to join the Freightos booking platform, a move that will extend the reach of Freightos Pay across Europe and the United States. This integration will enable rapid, guaranteed digital payments between freight forwarders and carriers, including those without International Air Transport Association (IATA) accreditation, which has been a significant barrier to digital transaction adoption in the region.

Freightos, a leading vendor-neutral digital pricing, booking, and procurement platform for the international freight industry, announced this partnership on 24 March 2026. The addition of Air Serbia will allow freight forwarders to access a wide range of destinations, from major hubs like the United States to niche locations such as Zagreb, Podgorica, and Tbilisi.

Sebastien Podgorski, VP Airline Solutions at Freightos, stated, “In air cargo, payments are more than a back-office function—they're a strategic lever. By combining booking with guaranteed payments, we're helping airlines strengthen cash flow, reduce disputes, and open up distribution to a much broader set of forwarders.”

Veselin Djordjevic, Head of Cargo at Air Serbia, highlighted the importance of this partnership, saying, “The guaranteed payment solution addresses a critical business need for us, eliminating financial uncertainty whilst expanding our reach to freight forwarders across Europe and beyond.”

Freightos Pay aims to streamline the financial aspect of air cargo bookings, reducing financial risk for airlines and enabling freight forwarders without existing airline accounts to access carriers and expand their customer base. This collaboration marks a significant step in digital transformation for both Freightos and Air Serbia, promising a more efficient and accessible market for air cargo services
