Representative ImageThe Abu Dhabi Projects and Infrastructure Centre (ADPIC) has launched a new governance framework designed to expedite approvals and improve coordination for capital projects across Abu Dhabi. Announced at the Abu Dhabi Infrastructure Summit (ADIS) 2026, this initiative unites 14 government entities under a single mechanism to streamline infrastructure delivery.
The framework, formalised through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed by senior officials including UAE Minister of Energy and Infrastructure Suhail Mohamed Al Mazrouei, aims to accelerate the issuance of No-Objection Certificates (NOCs) and resolve approval bottlenecks. A new Joint Committee, chaired by ADPIC, will oversee these processes, ensuring timely project delivery.
Mohamed Ali Al Shorafa, Chairman of the Department of Municipalities and Transport, highlighted the framework as a "clear statement of intent" to align governance with Abu Dhabi's ambitious infrastructure goals. Maysarah Mahmoud Salim Eid, Director General of ADPIC, emphasised the importance of effective coordination in delivering impactful infrastructure projects.
The framework includes participation from key entities such as the Department of Energy, Environment Agency - Abu Dhabi, and telecommunications operators like du and Etisalat. It underscores Abu Dhabi's commitment to transparent governance and a stable investment environment, reinforcing its status as a competitive infrastructure hub.
The announcement was made during ADIS, held from 12 to 14 May 2026, which gathered over 7,000 industry leaders to discuss urban development and infrastructure advancements
