Air New Zealand is set to launch a new non-stop service between Singapore and Christchurch starting 28 October, significantly boosting travel options for those eager to explore New Zealand's South Island. The service will operate thrice weekly, utilising the retrofitted Boeing 787 Dreamliner, which promises an enhanced onboard experience across all cabins.

The introduction of this route is part of Air New Zealand's broader strategy to increase capacity during the peak season. Chief Executive Nikhil Ravishankar emphasised the importance of Singapore as a gateway, stating, "This growth makes it even easier for travellers to choose New Zealand and experience more of what we have to offer." The new service complements the existing Auckland-Singapore route, providing a strong entry point into both the North and South Islands.

The retrofitted Dreamliner features redesigned Business Premier seating, a new Premium Economy experience, and refreshed Economy cabins. This upgrade aims to improve inflight comfort and entertainment, catering to long-haul travellers. The increased capacity also facilitates connections from the UK, Europe, India, and Southeast Asia through Singapore.

Flights are currently on sale, with the service running from October through the Northern Winter season, pending regulatory approval. This expansion underscores Air New Zealand's commitment to making the country more accessible and attractive to international visitors, whilst also leveraging its robust domestic network to connect travellers to 18 destinations across New Zealand
