BOC Aviation Limited has signed a second lease agreement with Akasa Air for three additional Boeing 737-8200 aircraft. These aircraft, powered by CFM LEAP-1B engines, are scheduled for delivery by the end of 2026. This deal follows a successful transaction between the two companies last November.

Paul Kent, Chief Commercial Officer of BOC Aviation, expressed satisfaction with the ongoing partnership, stating, “Following our successful transaction last November, we are pleased to be executing a further agreement with Akasa as it builds its business in India and beyond.” The Boeing 737-8200 is noted for its fuel efficiency and popularity as a single-aisle jet, making it a key component of BOC Aviation's orderbook.

Priya Mehra, Chief of Governance and Strategic Acquisitions at Akasa Air, highlighted the strategic importance of this agreement, saying, “We are pleased to further deepen our partnership with BOC Aviation through this second transaction that adds further three Boeing 737-8200 aircraft, which reflects a shared long-term conviction in Akasa Air’s growth trajectory and the strength of the Indian aviation market.”

BOC Aviation, headquartered in Singapore, is a leading global aircraft leasing company with a portfolio of 813 aircraft and engines. Akasa Air, known for its efficient operations and customer service, has rapidly expanded since its launch in August 2022, serving over 27 million passengers. The airline currently operates 38 Boeing 737 MAX aircraft and has a firm order for 226 more, underscoring its commitment to a modern, environmentally friendly fleet
