Habitat Escapes, the rental agency of Habitat First Group, has successfully funded more than 25,000 trees, mangroves, and sea kelp in collaboration with Play It Green since late 2022. This initiative, coinciding with World Environment Day on 5 June, allows guests to contribute to environmental conservation through a £3 booking add-on.
The initiative spans Habitat Escapes' estates in Dorset and the Cotswolds, including Silverlake and Lower Mill Estate. These locations offer nature-rich stays, with Silverlake featuring lakeside and woodland villages, and Lower Mill Estate providing a thriving nature reserve. Guests can enjoy these eco-friendly retreats whilst supporting environmental projects.
The £3 donation option funds six plants through Play It Green, aiding fruit tree and agroforestry projects in Senegal, mangrove restoration in Kenya and Tanzania, and sea kelp regeneration in Canada. Additionally, 10% of the revenue supports Dorset & Cotswolds Wildlife Support, enhancing local conservation efforts.
With rental prices starting from £519 for a two-night stay at Lower Mill Estate and £579 at Silverlake Estate, guests can choose properties like Pochard or Hambury Cottage. This initiative offers travellers a straightforward way to make a positive environmental impact during their stay. For more information, visit Habitat Escapes' website
