Avelo Airlines has announced the addition of two new Florida destinations from McKinney National Airport, expanding its network to 11 destinations. Starting 16 December, the airline will offer flights to Sarasota-Bradenton, followed by West Palm Beach on 17 December. This expansion is part of Avelo's strategy to cater to the growing demand for travel from North Texas.

The airline is also increasing its Las Vegas service to six flights per week during the peak holiday season, adding two more weekly flights on Wednesdays and Saturdays. This complements the existing schedule of flights on Mondays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Sundays.

Avelo's inaugural service from McKinney will commence on 11 November, with flights to Las Vegas and four other Florida cities: Fort Lauderdale, Fort Myers, Orlando, and Tampa. Mid-December will see further expansion with routes to Denver, Atlanta, New Orleans, and Nashville.

Introductory one-way fares start at $69, with reservations available on Avelo's website. Avelo Airlines CEO Andrew Levy expressed enthusiasm for the expansion, stating, "North Texas continues to show up for Avelo. With two new Florida destinations in West Palm Beach and Sarasota-Bradenton, we'll now serve 11 nonstop routes from DTX."

Avelo's investment in McKinney includes the establishment of a base with three Boeing Next-Generation 737 aircraft, creating approximately 150 jobs. Since its launch in April 2021, Avelo has served over 10.5 million customers, offering low fares and reliable service from smaller, less crowded airports.
