Digital travel platform Agoda has identified a significant increase in family accommodation searches for domestic summer travel in India, with Puri, Wayanad, and Goa emerging as the top trending destinations. The data, based on searches for check-ins between May and June 2026, highlights a growing interest in coastal, nature, and outdoor-focused getaways.
Odisha's coastal town, Puri, has seen a 68% rise in searches, attracting families with its blend of spiritual heritage and beachside leisure. Kerala's Wayanad follows with a 40% increase, offering wildlife sanctuaries and cool forests as a retreat from the summer heat. Goa, a perennial favourite, recorded a 29% rise, appealing with its beaches and family-friendly resorts.
Additionally, Rishikesh in Uttarakhand has experienced a 22% increase in interest, drawing families to its spiritual sites and outdoor activities like rafting. Hill stations such as Mahabaleshwar and Ooty have also seen rises of 15% and 13% respectively, maintaining their status as popular summer retreats.
