Regent Phu Quoc is set to host Vietnam's inaugural Spanish Gastronomic Showcase from 9 to 14 June 2026, in collaboration with the Spanish Pantry Festival. The event will feature two MICHELIN two-star chefs, Javier Olleros and Benito Gómez, alongside Spain's leading culinary artisans, offering a week-long celebration of Spanish cuisine and culture.
The highlight of the event is a six-hands dinner at Oku on 12 June, where chefs Olleros and Gómez will join Oku’s chef de cuisine, Andy Huynh, to create an eight-course tasting menu. This unique collaboration aims to blend the chefs' distinct culinary styles, showcasing the diversity of modern Spanish gastronomy.
General Manager Juan Losada expressed that the event is a testament to Vietnam's growing culinary reputation. "By bringing world-renowned chefs to Phu Quoc, we are creating a dialogue between cultures," he said. Alejandro Paadín, curator of the Spanish Pantry Festival, added that Vietnam's dynamic culinary scene makes it an ideal location for such a cultural exchange.
The week will also include tapas evenings, paella shows, and masterclasses on Spanish wine and jamón. The event aims to position Phu Quoc as a burgeoning epicentre for world-class culinary experiences in Asia. As the festivities conclude on 14 June, guests will have experienced a rich tapestry of Spanish dining culture, set against the luxurious backdrop of Regent Phu Quoc
