Thales has been awarded a contract by the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS) to develop an Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) Traffic Management (UTM) System. This initiative, in collaboration with Deeeplabs, aims to create a comprehensive portal for managing unmanned aircraft operations in Singapore. The platform, based on Thales' TopSky - AstraUTM solution, will streamline application processes and improve regulatory approval times, enhancing situational awareness for drone operations.

The UTM system will integrate advanced flight management with digital regulatory services, supporting the entire lifecycle of drone operations. Key features include operator and drone registration, digital flight planning and authorisation, and real-time monitoring. This will ensure efficient coordination of unmanned flights across Singapore's airspace, supporting industries such as logistics, infrastructure inspection, and emergency response.

Thales' collaboration with Deeeplabs, a Singapore-based technology provider, combines global aviation expertise with local digital capabilities. This partnership aligns with Singapore's innovation and smart mobility goals, reinforcing Thales' leadership in Unmanned Air Traffic Management.

Youzec Kurp, Vice President of Airspace Mobility Solutions at Thales, stated, “We are honoured to support CAAS in shaping the future of Singapore’s unmanned aircraft landscape.” Dex Lim, Managing Director of Deeeplabs, added, “We look forward to supporting the deployment and operations of a world-class UTM platform.”

The project marks a significant step in advancing Singapore's drone ecosystem, with implications for various sectors and reinforcing Thales' position in the global market
