In a groundbreaking partnership, Mews, a hospitality operating system, has teamed up with Uber to integrate ride booking, real-time tracking, and billing directly into the Mews platform. This collaboration enables hotels to request, track, and bill Uber rides seamlessly, transforming a traditionally manual task into a streamlined process. The integration aims to enhance guest experiences by offering transportation services as part of the hotel stay, rather than a separate transaction.

The partnership was announced ahead of Mews Unfold, an event in Amsterdam on 27 May, where Christophe Peymirat, Uber for Business EMEA's Senior Director, and Mike Coscetta, President of Mews, will discuss the impact of this collaboration on the hospitality industry. According to Mews research, guests typically spend an average of $50 (£40) on transportation per stay, a cost that hotels can now capture as ancillary revenue.

The integration allows hotel staff to book rides for guests with just a few clicks, track journeys in real time, and manage payments through Mews Payments. This feature also extends to staff transportation, offering reliable journeys for late and night shifts, thereby improving staff satisfaction.

Christophe Peymirat highlighted the importance of this integration, stating, "Connecting Uber's network directly into the Mews platform is a practical step toward giving hotels visibility and control over something they have been managing manually for decades."

The integration is currently in development, with a pilot programme set to launch this year. Further details will be shared with customers and partners as the launch approaches
