Hurtigruten secures €430m refinancing for growth

Hurtigruten Group has successfully completed a €430 million refinancing of its debt facilities, enhancing its financial structure and reducing costs. This strategic move, executed with leading Nordic banks including DNB, Danske Bank, Nordea, and SEB, replaces existing debt with new €330 million facilities, significantly lowering annual financing expenses. Additionally, a €100 million equity issue underscores the strong support from shareholders.

The refinancing marks a pivotal moment for Hurtigruten, which has been operating as a stand-alone business since early 2025. CEO Hedda Felin expressed satisfaction with the new long-term financing, stating, "The transaction significantly reduces financing costs and gives us a solid foundation going forward." Felin highlighted that the strengthened balance sheet positions Hurtigruten to invest in its offerings and continue delivering unique experiences along the Norwegian coast and in Svalbard.

Hurtigruten, renowned for its voyages since 1893, continues to connect Norway’s coastal communities, offering immersive experiences with its custom-built fleet. The company remains committed to sustainable travel, featuring battery-hybrid powered ships and initiatives like the Sea Zero project, aiming for emissions-free operations. Operating year-round, Hurtigruten provides both the Original Coastal Express and premium Signature voyages, showcasing the natural beauty and cultural richness of Norway
