Emirates SkyCargo expands freighter network in Asia

Emirates SkyCargo has announced a significant expansion of its freighter services across East and Southeast Asia, responding to the growing demand for connectivity between manufacturing hubs in the region and high-demand markets globally.

The air cargo carrier moved over 439,000 tonnes of cargo from 12 markets in the region during the financial year 2025–26, marking a 5% increase from the previous year.

The expansion includes doubling freighter capacity to Narita Airport in Tokyo, increasing operations to two weekly flights to support Japan's manufacturing sectors, including automotive and electronics. In Hong Kong, Emirates SkyCargo will operate 37 weekly freighter flights, enhancing flexibility for customers in this export-driven corridor. Additionally, the carrier has introduced three weekly flights from Zhengzhou, connecting Central China's industrial hub to Dubai and beyond.

Emirates SkyCargo has also resumed freighter flights from Singapore, with a weekly service connecting to Dubai via Mumbai. In Taiwan, the service will increase to twice weekly freighters to meet the demand for high-tech electronic cargo. The carrier continues its weekly service to Bangkok and maintains four weekly freighter services to Hanoi, supporting exports of perishables and tech products.

Badr Abbas, Divisional Senior Vice President of Emirates SkyCargo, highlighted the importance of East and Southeast Asia as key manufacturing zones, stating, "By deploying additional freighter flights and expanding our freighter footprint, we are providing the rapid connectivity that ensures exporters can get their cargo quickly and safely to their end customers across the world."

Emirates SkyCargo also leverages the cargo capacity of its widebody passenger flights, offering over 12,000 tonnes of cargo capacity weekly across the region. The carrier's specialist product portfolio includes services for transporting electronics, perishables, and pharmaceuticals, ensuring safe and efficient delivery of goods requiring specialised handling
