Capella Hotel Group has announced the appointment of Feisal Jaffer as Chief Development Officer, marking a significant step in its global expansion strategy.
Jaffer will oversee the development of Capella and Patina brands, focusing on hospitality-driven real estate platforms.
Jaffer rejoins the group at a pivotal moment, as Capella Hotels and Resorts has been recognised as Travel + Leisure’s World’s Best Hotel Brand for three consecutive years. Patina Hotels & Resorts is also expanding, with Patina Tianjin set to debut in China. The group aims to double its portfolio by 2030, with new openings in Nanjing, Riyadh, and Florence.
Previously, Jaffer played a crucial role in Capella's growth, leading projects like Fari Islands in the Maldives and Capella Sydney. His recent tenure as Global Head of LXR Hotels & Resorts at Hilton Worldwide saw him expand the brand from one to over 40 properties globally.
Roland Fasel, President of Capella Hotel Group, praised Jaffer's "deep relationships across institutional and private capital" and his "sharp commercial mind." Evan Kwee, Vice Chairman, highlighted Jaffer's entrepreneurial spirit and investment discipline, noting his central role in significant projects.
Jaffer expressed excitement about returning to Capella, stating, "To help advance the Group’s global development under Roland’s leadership is a tremendous privilege." His appointment is expected to drive Capella's strategic growth and strengthen its position in the luxury hospitality sector
