Costa Rica has introduced a novel attraction with the opening of its first-ever glass suspension bridge in Monteverde's cloud forests.

Situated within Treetopia Park's Sky Walk circuit, the bridge allows visitors to walk above the forest canopy on a transparent surface, providing uninterrupted views of one of the country's most biodiverse ecosystems.

The Glass Bridge stretches 42 metres and rises up to 20 metres above the forest floor, suspended by two main steel cables. It is part of the Sky Walk trail, which features six suspension bridges across approximately 1.7 miles of forest trails. This new addition offers travellers a fresh perspective on the cloud forest, combining innovative design with panoramic views.

Visitors can experience the Glass Bridge as part of the standard Sky Walk admission, which also includes other adventure activities like ziplining and cableway rides. The opening of the bridge aligns with efforts to protect Monteverde's fragile ecosystem. The Monteverde Cloud Forest Preserve has implemented a timed-entry reservation system to manage visitor numbers and minimise disturbances to wildlife, reflecting Costa Rica's commitment to sustainable tourism.

Costa Rica, known for its rich biodiversity and sustainable practices, continues to attract UK travellers with direct flights from London, offering easy access to its rainforests, beaches, and vibrant culture
