Brazil made a significant impact at the Global BirdFair in Rutland, United Kingdom, from 10 to 12 July, by promoting itself as a prime destination for wildlife, ecotourism, and birdwatching.
The event marks Brazil's second consecutive year of participation, with a focus on showcasing its diverse natural offerings to the UK market.
The Brazilian delegation, featuring 12 co-exhibitors from regions such as Bahia, Mato Grosso do Sul, and Ilhabela, is presenting a range of experiences including birdwatching, jaguar sightings, and marine life exploration. This initiative aims to connect UK travel professionals with Brazil's unique ecotourism opportunities, reflecting the growing interest among UK travellers in authentic and less crowded destinations. Notably, 24% of UK visitors to Brazil are drawn by nature and ecotourism, contributing to an 11.23% increase in arrivals from the UK between January and May 2026.
Bruno Reis, President of Visit Brasil, emphasised the country's rich biodiversity, stating, "Promoting wildlife tourism is gaining momentum because it connects the country with travellers seeking meaningful nature experiences."
Brazil's participation includes thematic talks and the introduction of the Natural Parks platform, which offers itineraries across protected areas. This platform aims to enhance travel experiences and promote sustainable tourism. The Global BirdFair serves as a strategic platform for Brazil to reinforce its position in high-value travel segments, aligning with its International Tourism Marketing Plan 2025-2027
