TDM AWARDS - NOMINATE NOW!

Malaysia has been ranked as the world's leading Muslim-friendly destination in the Mastercard-Crescent Rating Global Muslim Travel Index (GMTI) 2025. This accolade highlights Malaysia's appeal to travellers from the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) seeking seamless halal-friendly travel experiences, rich cultural immersion, and family-friendly holidays.

Malaysia's extensive halal dining options, widespread prayer facilities, and world-class tourism infrastructure make it a preferred destination for GCC travellers. The country invites visitors to explore its diverse regions through a vibrant calendar of cultural festivals and unique local experiences that showcase its rich heritage and natural beauty.

This summer, travellers can explore the captivating landscapes of Sarawak, home to pristine rainforests and indigenous communities. From 24–26 July, the Pesta Nukenan (Bario Food Festival) will celebrate the traditions of the Kelabit Highlands, offering local cuisine and cultural performances.

For those interested in arts and culture, Penang's George Town Festival, from 2–10 August, presents a programme of visual arts, music, and theatre in one of Southeast Asia's UNESCO World Heritage cities. Known for its multicultural heritage and exceptional gastronomy, Penang offers an enriching city-break experience.

In conjunction with Citrawarna 2026, from 24–26 July at Dataran Merdeka, over 40 hotels in the Klang Valley and selected states are offering exclusive stay promotions. These include attractive room rates and unique packages available for booking from mid-July to mid-August 2026.

Faharuddin Hatmin, Director of Tourism Malaysia Dubai, stated, "Malaysia's recognition as the world's leading Muslim-friendly destination reflects our commitment to providing seamless, welcoming, and enriching travel experiences for visitors from the GCC."
