Turkish Airlines is set to launch scheduled flights to Chengdu, the capital of Sichuan Province, starting 11 November 2026. This expansion marks Chengdu as the fourth destination in Mainland China for the airline, following Beijing, Shanghai, and Guangzhou. The move aims to bolster commercial, cultural, and tourism links between Türkiye and China.

Chengdu, a city with over 21 million residents, is a significant hub for trade, logistics, and finance, hosting numerous multinational companies in sectors such as electronics and biotechnology. Ahmet Olmuştur, CEO of Turkish Airlines, highlighted the strategic importance of China, stating: "With the launch of our flights to Chengdu, we are further strengthening our flight network in the country." The airline will operate three weekly flights on the Istanbul–Chengdu route, using Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft, with a capacity of 300 seats.

To celebrate the new route, Turkish Airlines is offering special fares starting from $540 (£___) in Economy Class and $1,991 (£___) in Business Class. These fares are available on the airline's official website and may vary at sales offices and travel agencies.
