Ontario International Airport (ONT) has reported a significant milestone, surpassing 4 million passengers year-to-date as of July. The airport served 673,413 travellers in July alone, with 616,247 domestic and 57,166 international passengers. This marks a 0.4% increase in international travel compared to the same month last year. Year-to-date figures reveal a 13% rise in total passenger volumes compared to 2025, with international travel showing a remarkable 36.9% growth.

The airport's CEO, Atif Elkadi, highlighted the significance of this growth amidst challenges in international travel to the US. "More than 4 million passengers have already travelled through ONT this year, and our international passenger volume is up nearly 37%," Elkadi stated, emphasising the airport's role as a key aviation gateway in Southern California.

In July, Southwest Airlines led with a 34.4% share of passengers, followed by American Airlines at 14.8%, Frontier Airlines at 11.9%, Alaska Airlines at 11.1%, and Delta Air Lines at 9.4%.

Additionally, Ontario International Airport continues to bolster its status as a global supply chain hub, with air cargo volumes increasing by 7% year-to-date. Freight tonnage rose by 10%, whilst mail tonnage saw an 8.4% decrease.
