Ko Samet’s long-running LGBTQ+ beach weekend returns in October with pool parties, themed nights, community activities and the easygoing island energy that has made the gathering one of Thailand’s most enduring LGBTQ+ tourism events.
Running around the weekend of 23–25 October 2026, the event will again centre on Silver Sand and nearby venues, with a program that blends nightlife, beach culture and community participation.
This year’s entertainment includes The Final, billed as “the last fun party of the year,” at Silver Sand Full Bar, alongside themed evenings including Red Carpet, Ebony & Ivory, and Pride Night. A separate Samed Pool Party is also promoted for 23–24 October at Samed Pavilion Resort, adding a daytime poolside element before the evening crowds head back toward Silver Sand.
The social side is only part of the weekend.
A merit-making activity is scheduled for 24 October at 2:00 p.m., continuing a tradition that has helped distinguish the Ko Samet gathering from a conventional party weekend. Beach cleanups are also expected to form part of the program, reinforcing the community-minded element that has featured prominently in previous editions.
Earlier Rainbow Weekends have drawn thousands of visitors to the island, supporting resorts, restaurants, ferry operators, bars and other local businesses. The May 2026 edition again demonstrated the event’s ability to generate significant visitor demand while retaining the informal, community-led character that has defined it for years.
Accommodation is likely to be one of the biggest challenges.
Even long-time visitors who return to Ko Samet several times a year can find it surprisingly difficult to secure their preferred beachfront bungalow during Rainbow Weekend. With rooms changing hands and plans shifting right up to the final days, persistence, flexibility and a watchful eye on social media can pay off.
That informal exchange of information is part of the culture surrounding the weekend. Visitors often rely as much on Facebook posts, direct messages and friends on the island as they do on traditional booking channels.
The October edition also arrives as Thailand continues to strengthen its reputation as one of Asia’s most welcoming destinations for LGBTQ+ travelers. Ko Samet’s event offers a particularly Thai version of that inclusivity: relaxed, social, community-oriented and closely connected to the island itself.
By day, that may mean the pool, the beach, merit-making or helping with a cleanup.
By night, Silver Sand takes over.
And for the thousands who have made the journey before, that combination is precisely why they keep coming back.
