Representative ImageABTA is set to launch a series of webinars next month aimed at helping employers understand the intricacies of hiring apprentices. This initiative, in collaboration with AS Training, will span 12 months and include both webinars and drop-in sessions. The first session, scheduled for 15 September, will cover the fundamentals of apprenticeships, including available funding and the business advantages they offer.
Vicki Wolf, ABTA's Head of Education and Career Development, and Michelle van Sprang, Managing Director of AS Training, will lead the sessions. They will address recent changes in apprenticeship funding, such as the new £2,000 ($___) hiring incentive for employers recruiting apprentices under 25, set to launch in October.
The webinar will also feature testimonials from an apprentice and an employer who have successfully integrated apprenticeships into their organisations. Wolf emphasised the value of apprenticeships, stating, “Taking on an apprentice is a fantastic way to introduce new talent into your business with the added benefit of being able to access Government funding.”
Van Sprang added, “Apprenticeships are one of the most effective ways to develop talented people whilst strengthening a business for the future.” The session will conclude with a live Q&A, offering attendees the chance to seek practical advice.
ABTA, a leading UK trade association for travel agents and tour operators, aims to support its members in developing skilled staff to grow successful businesses. Registration for the webinar is available on ABTA's website
