Miral, a leader in creating immersive destinations in Abu Dhabi, hosted the 'Threads of Heritage' Talli workshop at SeaWorld Yas Island to celebrate Emirati Women’s Day.
Partnering with the Family Development Foundation, the event gathered 40 women to recognise the significant contributions of Emirati women to their families and communities.
The workshop is part of Miral’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Strategy under its Arts & Culture pillar, which aims to promote emotional wellbeing and creative expression through traditional crafts.
This initiative underscores the vital role of women in preserving the UAE’s cultural heritage and fostering unity, aligning with the themes of Emirati Women’s Day 2026 and the UAE’s Year of Family 2026.
Experts from the House of Artisans, an institution dedicated to preserving traditional crafts, led the workshop.
Participants were introduced to the history and significance of Talli, a traditional Emirati embroidery craft listed on the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage List.
The session, led by skilled artisan Ayesha Saeed Alghaithi, provided a platform for women to bond over shared cultural experiences, reinforcing family ties and a sense of belonging.
Taghrid Alsaeed, Executive Director of Marketing, Communications & Events at Miral, stated, “Emirati women play a vital role in preserving our nation’s heritage and instilling core values within the family. This year’s Emirati Women’s Day theme, ‘We Emerge Stronger and Better,’ beautifully captures the spirit of collective empowerment.”
