Accor accelerates Asian footprint with 30 new signings in 2026

Global hospitality firm Accor maintains its aggressive development pace across Asia, securing 30 new hotel signings year to date.

Representing 7,698 keys across 12 countries, the milestone sets the stage for a fourth consecutive year of record regional growth.

This most recent achievement was fuelled by surging demand for versatile midscale properties, conversion-ready brands, and branded residences.

By pairing conversion flexibility with robust owner support, Accor’s targeted momentum demonstrates that the group’s multi-tiered brand portfolio is well tuned to capture Asia’s next wave of travel growth.

Powered by midscale

The midscale sector proved to be the primary engine of development, delivering roughly 49 percent of all keys signed.

Through recognisable flags such as TRIBE, Mercure, Novotel, and Handwritten Collection, the segment contributed 16 properties and over 3,600 keys.

Meanwhile, premium offerings led by Mövenpick added seven hotels and more than 2,200 keys, whilst economy powerhouse ibis Styles anchored five signings comprising 1,200 keys.

High-end lifestyle and luxury portfolios delivered an additional two hotels with 583 keys.

Accor’s expansion map in the region

Geographically, Indonesia and Vietnam emerged as the frontrunners. Indonesia led all Asian markets with 13 signed properties across Jakarta, Bali, Batam, and Yogyakarta.

Vietnam followed closely with six signings across Danang and Phu Quoc, representing upwards of 2,600 keys.

Notably, Accor became the first international hospitality group to register its brands for franchising in Vietnam, marking a pivotal shift as asset owners seek flexible operational structures and direct access to global distribution networks.

According to Accor chief development officer in Asia Andrew Langdon: "2026 is shaping up to be another record year for Accor's development in Asia. More owners are recognising the value of joining a powerful hospitality platform that combines internationally recognised brands, global distribution, and ALL Accor to drive revenue and support the long-term performance of their assets."

Catering to evolving expectations

Beyond traditional accommodations, Accor is capitalising on evolving guest expectations with new lifestyle concepts.

The group recently introduced greet, its community-focused, eco-conscious economy brand, to the Thai market through its initial property in Bangkok.

The global hospitality firm is also laying down the foundations across key regional locations for its redefined hostel concept JO&JOE.

At the same time, branded residences managed through the Accor One Living platform are seeing rapid uptake in mixed-use and standalone schemes.

High-profile additions over the past year include Raffles Residences Bali, SLS Residences Phuket Kamala, SLS Residences Bangkok Sukhumvit 24, and Malaysia’s upcoming Mercure Living Genting Highlands.
