Accor has partnered with Corinthia Group to bring Verdi Hotels into its Handwritten Collection. From November, five Verdi properties in Malta, Portugal and Tunisia will join the brand. The partnership also includes plans to expand into Hungary and the Czech Republic.
The agreement gives Verdi Hotels access to Accor’s global distribution, marketing and loyalty networks while allowing each property to retain its identity.
Launched in 2023, Handwritten Collection brings together independent hotels with distinctive character and personalised hospitality. The brand now has more than 50 hotels across 22 countries, with another 58 in its development pipeline.
The partnership aims to improve Verdi Hotels’ performance and operational capabilities by combining its management platform with Accor’s global reach.
Simon Naudi, CEO of Corinthia Group, welcomed the strategic partnership. Paul Pisani, President of Verdi Hotels, said the collaboration would create opportunities to expand into new destinations. Philippe Bijaoui, Accor’s Chief Development Officer for Europe and North Africa, described the partnership as an important step towards the group’s growth ambitions.
The five properties joining Handwritten Collection are Verdi Gżira Promenade, Verdi St. George’s Bay Marina and Verdi Dragonara in Malta; Verdi Tunis Beach Resort in Tunisia; and Verdi Santarém in Portugal.
The hotels serve both business and leisure travellers, offering distinctive experiences in their respective destinations.
