AIME strengthens its leadership team as preparations accelerate for its 2027 run

In preparation for the 2027 run of the Asia-Pacific Incentives and Meetings Event (AIME), its organisers announced two major executive appointments earlier today, 10th August.

Monica Kent-Giles is AIME’s new marketing director, while Brooke Campbell was appointed AIME buyer engagement director.

By doing so, AIME strengthens its leadership team as preparations accelerate for the event which will be staged in Melbourne next February.

A sign of growth

AIME event director Silke Calder, who enters her seventh year leading the AIME team ahead of the 2027 show, says the new appointments will bring fresh perspectives and complement the broad experience of the team overall.

Calder said: “AIME continues to grow in both scale and impact, with more of the global community across Asia Pacific and beyond coming together each year to connect and do business. Every year we set ourselves the challenge to raise the bar for the industry. Expanding our executive team with leaders of Monica and Brooke's calibre ensures we can further elevate the quality of our show floor connections and deliver an unrivalled experience for our global community.”

With regard to Kent-Giles and Campbell, Calder remarked that they are already making their impact felt through new inspiration and specialised skills that strengthen AIME’s overall leadership team.

Who's who?

Monica Kent-Giles brings extensive executive experience in brand management, internal and external communications, digital marketing and events across APAC, EMEA and the USA.

Kent-Giles is an experienced marketing leader with a track record of driving commercial growth and building brands across diverse industries.

Having started her career at the Melbourne Convention Bureau, she has held senior marketing roles at News Corp in the UK and Australia, the Recruitment, Consulting and Staffing Association (RCSA), Melbourne Airport, and PMY Group.

Kent-Giles says witnessing the show’s impact on the business events sector over the years highlights the great opportunities ahead for AIME.

As she put it: “Having attended AIME over many years, I’ve experienced firsthand the energy, incredible connections and value the show delivers to the business events industry. Stepping into the role at such a pivotal moment is a privilege, and I look forward to further elevating its global presence.”

Meanwhile, Campbell brings more than two decades of specialised experience across hotels, wholesale, corporate, events, convention centres and destination bureaux.

She steps into the leadership team in the newly created role following senior positions including at Experience Gold Coast, the New Zealand International Convention Centre and the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre, which is the home of AIME.

According to Campbell, her priority is to enhance the overall buyer journey while ensuring the show continues to attract high-calibre planners from across key global markets.

As she put it:  “AIME is already the benchmark for business events in our region, and I’ve been fortunate to witness this as a show exhibitor, but we are setting an even higher standard for 2027. The strength of AIME lies in how precisely we match exhibitors with a curated group of decision-makers ready to do business, and our focus is on enhancing this to make every meeting on the show floor as productive and impactful as possible.”
