Air India has marked a significant milestone in passenger experience by enabling over 1 million travellers to connect to its inflight WiFi service between June 2025 and June 2026. This service, available on more than 55 daily flights, allows passengers to stay connected at 35,000 feet, with usage increasing from 30% to 55% over the year.

The demand for inflight connectivity is evident, with nearly 89% of users streaming content on social media and the rest engaging in web browsing, emails, and messaging. This has resulted in a substantial data consumption of approximately 500 terabytes, with streaming services accounting for 86% of the total usage.

Currently, Air India's WiFi service is available on 28 aircraft, covering routes to major cities such as London, New York, Frankfurt, and Singapore. As the airline expands its WiFi-enabled fleet, more passengers will have the opportunity to maintain their digital activities whilst travelling. This development is part of Air India's commitment to enhancing the onboard experience and meeting the growing demand for connectivity
