Latvian airline airBaltic has become the first Starlink-connected airline to introduce AirMall by InterLnkd, transforming its Skynet onboard Wi-Fi portal into a dynamic inflight shopping experience. This innovative service allows passengers to access over 20,000 brands directly from their personal devices, without the need for onboard stock or crew involvement.
AirMall integrates seamlessly with airBaltic's existing systems, offering tailored product recommendations and flexible delivery options post-flight. Natālija Kuzmina, VP Customer Experience & Insights at airBaltic, highlighted the benefits: “By adding AirMall to our new Skynet platform, we’re giving passengers a new way to shop in flight from their favourite brands. With curated products, home delivery, and airBaltic Club points earned on every purchase, AirMall is an important step in building on our investment in inflight Wi-Fi and expanding what we can offer our customers onboard.”
InterLnkd's CEO, Barry Klipp, noted the significance of this development: “airBaltic rolling out AirMall on a Starlink-enabled fleet is a clear sign that airlines are turning the connected cabin into a digital experience. We’ve built a globally scalable solution that fits seamlessly into an airline’s own digital and loyalty ecosystem.”
The AirMall service is designed to integrate with any airline's captive portal, using an intelligent matching engine to personalise product offerings based on passenger profiles and destinations. This initiative follows a successful partnership with Viasat, allowing airlines to activate AirMall using existing infrastructure, thus providing a quick deployment across fleets without additional hardware or software
