Alaska Air Group and Bank of America have announced a multiyear extension of their longstanding credit card partnership, aiming to enhance the Atmos Rewards programme. This collaboration, which has been in place for over 30 years, will see Alaska Air Group moving towards a single issuer for its Atmos Rewards credit cards, with Bank of America set to become the sole issuer.
The renewed agreement is expected to deliver increased value for both companies and cardholders. Ben Minicucci, CEO of Alaska Air Group, stated, "Extending this partnership will mean even greater benefits for cardholders." The partnership will focus on enhancing technology and the cardholder experience, with expanded benefits across multiple card offerings.
Key benefits of the Atmos Rewards credit cards include the Summit Visa Infinite card, which offers an industry-leading 25,000-point Global Companion Award and eight Alaska Lounge day passes annually. The Ascent Visa Signature card provides access to the famous Companion Fare and a free checked bag for the cardholder and up to six companions.
Dean Athanasia, Co-President of Bank of America, emphasised the shared commitment to delivering value, stating, "Together we're investing in innovation, enhancing the cardholder experience, and supporting the continued growth of the Atmos Rewards platform."
The partnership's expansion is anticipated to accelerate the growth of Alaska's loyalty platform, contributing to the company's long-term value creation strategy. Cardholders can expect to see new benefits and product enhancements as they become available, with updates communicated through standard customer channels
