Alaska Airlines has teamed up with the Seattle FIFA World Cup 2026 Local Organising Committee to launch a new aeroplane livery, celebrating the upcoming summer football event in Seattle. The design, unveiled on a Boeing 737-9 MAX, features the Seattle Host City logo and a dynamic football, symbolising the excitement and momentum of the game.
The aeroplane, with tail number 985AK, also incorporates the iconic whale tail graphic, connecting to Seattle's maritime heritage. The bold statement "WE ARE SEATTLE" is displayed on the underside, reflecting Alaska Airlines' pride in its hometown and its commitment to welcoming fans from across its network.
Peter Tomozawa, CEO of SeattleFWC26, expressed enthusiasm for the partnership, stating, "This livery is more than a design; it is a reflection of who we are as the Pacific Northwest—innovative, welcoming, and proud."
In addition to the livery, Alaska Airlines is supporting community initiatives, including the inaugural Blind Football international tournament and art installations highlighting nonprofit partnerships in Seattle. A flag-raising ceremony at the Space Needle will also see Alaska join other Host City Supporters to raise the Seattle Host City Flag.
Eric Edge, Vice President of Brand and Marketing at Alaska Airlines, remarked, "Our new livery is a celebration of our hometown and everything it has to offer, as well as a recognition of Alaska's growing connection to destinations around the globe."
The collaboration underscores Seattle's readiness to host the world for the FIFA World Cup 2026, fostering a legacy of football, innovation, and inclusion in the region
