Hyatt Hotels Corporation and RLH Properties have announced the opening of Alila Mayakoba, a luxury retreat on Mexico’s Riviera Maya. This marks the Alila brand's debut in Latin America and the Caribbean, offering a resort experience deeply rooted in nature and wellbeing. The resort, located within the Mayakoba enclave, spans 60 acres of beachfront, lagoon, and jungle, featuring 182 guestrooms, suites, and villas.
Alila Mayakoba is designed to immerse guests in the natural beauty and cultural richness of the Riviera Maya. General Manager Patrick Schori emphasised the resort's commitment to providing an experience that is "grounded, intuitive, and deeply restorative." The resort's architecture and guest journey are crafted to reflect Alila's philosophy of mindful luxury.
The resort offers six dining destinations, including the return of Casa Amate, known for its regional flavours. Spa Alila at Mayakoba provides treatments guided by Mayan traditions, offering rituals such as the Earth and Clay purification and the Ixchel Water Blessing. These experiences are designed to connect guests with Mayan cosmology and the Yucatán Peninsula.
Tamara Lohan, Global Brand Leader for Hyatt, highlighted the resort as a "natural expression of the Alila brand" and an important milestone. Alila Mayakoba aims to offer guests a culturally rich experience with a true sense of wellbeing, aligning with the brand's global philosophy
