Alimentaria+Hostelco, the premier trade fair for the food, beverage, and hospitality equipment industries, wrapped up its latest edition in Barcelona with unprecedented international participation. The event, celebrating Alimentaria's 50th anniversary, attracted nearly 109,600 professionals, with 25% hailing from 120 countries, including the US, Europe, and Latin America.
The fair featured over 3,300 exhibitors, with 1,200 from more than 70 countries, highlighting the event's focus on internationalisation and business opportunities. Notably, international exhibitors increased by 30% compared to the 2024 edition, with a 40% expansion in exhibition space dedicated to them. Europe, particularly Poland as the Country of Honour, alongside Latin America and North America, represented a significant portion of this international presence.
A standout feature was the Horeca channel, which grew by 40%, showcasing over 600 companies. This area underscored the event's strategic focus on food service and hospitality, presenting innovative products aimed at healthier and environmentally friendly solutions, as well as AI applications for personalised nutrition.
The event facilitated over 14,500 business meetings between participating companies and more than 2,700 buyers and importers. Additionally, in collaboration with Fundació Banc dels Aliments, over 20,000 kg of food and beverages were donated by exhibitors.
