Alipay has launched its next-generation AI payment infrastructure, introducing the AI Wallet and Token Pay to support the burgeoning agentic economy. The announcement was made at the Alipay AI Payment Ecosystem Conference in Hangzhou, China, on 26 May 2026. Alipay AI Pay has already achieved a record 300 million transactions, marking it as the world's first commercially scaled AI-native payment infrastructure.
The AI Wallet offers users enhanced visibility and control over payments made through AI agents, allowing them to manage tasks and review spending. This service is now available in the Alipay App. Meanwhile, Token Pay provides AI model companies with a comprehensive solution for global subscription payments and token top-ups, facilitating seamless transactions.
Cyril Han, CEO of Ant Group, highlighted the transformative impact of AI agents on commerce, stating, "Drawing on 22 years of technological expertise, Alipay is building a new generation of AI payment services to accelerate the growth of the agentic commerce ecosystem."
Alipay's AI payment services are expanding across various use cases, including AI agents in apps, smart glasses, and AI development platforms. The company has also introduced a developer support programme, offering incentives and zero payment processing fees to individual AI developers.
As Alipay continues to integrate AI into its services, the company aims to enhance both online and offline commerce, further solidifying its position as a leader in digital payment solutions
