Atlas Ocean Voyages has announced its 2028-29 Antarctic programme, featuring 25 new expeditions that allow travellers to explore the continent by flying over Drake's Passage, sailing, or combining both options. The programme, running from October 2028 to March 2029, promises all-inclusive, yacht-style comfort aboard two polar-class ships, World Navigator and World Traveller, each accommodating fewer than 200 guests.
Cruise Traveller, the exclusive Australian representative for Atlas Ocean Voyages, is offering an air credit of up to $2,000 (US$2,000) per twin stateroom for bookings made by 5 January 2027. The expeditions range from nine to 19 nights, with fares starting at $12,998 (US$12,998) per person, twin-share. Each package includes a pre-cruise hotel night and return charter flights from Buenos Aires to Ushuaia, Argentina, the departure point for all voyages.
The programme includes four expeditions that combine a flight over Drake's Passage with a sailing return, and two itineraries that fly both ways, maximising exploration time around the Antarctic Peninsula. Longer expeditions venture deeper into the Antarctic wilderness and include visits to South Georgia and the Falkland Islands.
Led by a team of up to 17 experts, the expeditions offer Zodiac and shore safaris, onboard beverages, gratuities, and a 'polar plunge' experience. Optional activities include kayaking among icebergs and camping overnight on shore. Joe O’Sullivan, Managing Director of Cruise Traveller, highlighted the unique opportunity to experience Antarctica's pristine landscapes and abundant wildlife.
