BAA Training Vietnam has initiated a partnership with Sun PhuQuoc Airways, welcoming the first group of pilot cadets for Airbus A320 Type Rating training.

This collaboration aims to bolster the airline's long-term pilot development strategy as Vietnam's aviation sector continues to expand. The training commenced on 10 August 2026 at BAA Training's simulator centre in Ho Chi Minh City.

Sun PhuQuoc Airways, which began operations in November 2025, has rapidly expanded its fleet to 17 aircraft, with plans for further growth to meet rising passenger demand. The airline has selected 13 cadets for the initial training programme, which spans two months and includes competency-based instruction, advanced simulator sessions, and operational preparation. The programme adheres to standards set by the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam (CAAV) and the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA).

Tran Trong Nhan, Managing Director at BAA Training Vietnam, highlighted the importance of reliable training solutions for the growing aviation industry. "Our focus is on delivering training that meets the highest international standards whilst preparing pilots for the operational demands of modern commercial aviation," he stated.

Captain Nguyen Duc Manh, Crew Training Postholder at Sun PhuQuoc Airways, emphasised the strategic priority of developing a pipeline of qualified pilots. "Partnering with BAA Training Vietnam allows us to provide our cadets with world-class training and operational readiness," he said.
