Blenheim Palace is inviting visitors to experience the splendour of its Rosarium as it celebrates National Rose Month this June. The UNESCO World Heritage Site has introduced 50 new rose varieties, planted in late 2024, which are now in full bloom alongside vibrant alliums and Nepeta catmint.
The Head Gardener at Blenheim Palace, Andy Mills, expressed enthusiasm about the new additions. "Our new roses are thriving, and the companion planting really brings the Rosarium to life," he said. The combination of roses, alliums, and catmint not only enhances the garden's aesthetic appeal with their colours, heights, and textures but also promotes biodiversity and naturally reduces pests and diseases.
The gardens are maintained with monthly organic sprays to ensure the roses remain healthy and resilient. Additionally, over 500 Dahlia tubers are being cultivated in the palace's greenhouses, promising a spectacular display later in the season.
Visitors to Blenheim Palace during National Rose Month can enjoy the vibrant tapestry of colours in the Rosarium. Access to the gardens and parkland is included with a valid Palace, Park & Gardens Ticket or Palace and Play Pass, available for booking on the Blenheim Palace website.
Blenheim Palace, home to the Dukes of Marlborough since 1705, is set in over 2,000 acres of landscaped parkland and is renowned for its historical significance and cultural events. The estate continues to focus on sustainability, local economic growth, and community support
