Kempegowda International Airport Bengaluru (BLR Airport) has marked its 18th anniversary with the release of a Permanent Pictorial Cancellation (PPC) by India Post. This commemorative release, which includes a Special Cover and Picture Postcards, highlights BLR Airport's role as a key gateway to Bengaluru and its evolution into a globally connected hub for innovation and culture.

Since its inception in 2008 as India's first Greenfield airport developed through a public-private partnership, BLR Airport has become one of the country's leading aviation hubs. The PPC, available at the BLR Airport Post Office, features an image of Nadaprabhu Kempegowda alongside the airport, symbolising the blend of Bengaluru's heritage and modern identity. The Special Cover and Picture Postcards offer travellers and philately enthusiasts a tangible keepsake of the city's spirit.

Hari Marar, Managing Director and CEO of Bangalore International Airport Limited (BIAL), remarked, "As BLR Airport marks 18 years of operations, it is a moment to reflect on a journey that has evolved alongside Bengaluru’s own transformation over the years." He emphasised the airport's focus on creating immersive passenger experiences whilst supporting the city's aspirations.

Smt V Tara, Director Postal Services, Bengaluru HQ Region, added, "The release of this Permanent Pictorial Cancellation is a tribute to BLR Airport’s significance as an important gateway to Bengaluru and the wider region."

BLR Airport, operated by BIAL, recently achieved a milestone by serving over 44.47 million passengers and processing 532,000 metric tonnes of cargo in FY 2025-26. It remains South India's busiest airport and the third largest in the country
