The destination has evolved from a tourist attraction to a shared space for families, residents, visitors, and local businesses.
Blue Tree Phuket was recognised at the Travel Daily Media Travel Trade Excellence Awards 2026 - Thailand as the Community Initiative of the Year - Thailand awardee, highlighting its transformation from a water park into a community-focused space.
The destination has gone beyond serving only as a tourism attraction and has created an environment where residents and visitors can take part in activities, enjoy the outdoors, and connect with the wider community.
At the centre of Blue Tree Phuket’s transformation is its 30-rai (4.8 ha) community park, which combines green spaces, recreation areas, and places for people to gather, including an open and walkable environment for families, children, pet owners, fitness enthusiasts, and community groups.
The space is designed to be used throughout the year, with activities and events such as family programmes, wellness sessions, sporting activities, cultural events, and community gatherings that have helped turn Blue Tree into an active meeting place.
Inclusivity is also an important part of the destination’s approach. Its pet-friendly and family-oriented environment welcomes people from different backgrounds, which creates opportunities to share the same spaces and experiences.
Blue Tree Phuket has also connected its community focus with its approach to sustainability, with its low-density design, open-air spaces, and extensive greenery.
The destination also contributes to Phuket’s local economy, with more
than 80 businesses operating within its ecosystem. These businesses benefit from visitor traffic and an environment that encourages people to stay, explore, and spend more time on the property.
In 2025 alone, Blue Tree Phuket welcomed more than 1 million visitors, demonstrating its continued growth and strong appeal as a lifestyle and community destination. Looking ahead, visitor numbers are expected to double in 2026, reaching approximately 2 million visitors and further strengthening Blue Tree Phuket’s position as one of the island’s leading destinations.
This milestone reflects the site’s growing role in Phuket not only as a tourism destination but also as a place for the wider community. Building on this growth, Blue Tree Phuket is expanding and developing a 16-rai Wellness District that fuses modern wellness infrastructure with the island’s tropical lifestyle and natural surroundings. The destination is designed to create an environment where physical health, social connection, active living, and personal wellbeing coexist naturally. With a curated mix of fitness, sports, recovery, healthy dining, and lifestyle operators, the district will become a vibrant hub for residents, visitors, and wellness enthusiasts.
The project will feature approximately 5,000 sqm of leasable space across 14 customisable plots, alongside a growing sports community anchored by Phuket’s largest padel community.
Outdoor spaces, greenery, and water will play an important role in the overall environment, with only 35% of the district built up and 65% dedicated to green and water areas, creating an open, natural, and welcoming environment.
Its Community Initiative of the Year - Thailand recognition is a testament to the effectiveness of the destination’s efforts to create shared value for visitors and businesses whilst contributing to the social and cultural life of Phuket.
