Bob W, a leading tech-powered hospitality operator, has announced a remarkable achievement in reducing its carbon footprint. The company reported that its aparthotels generate 69% lower carbon emissions per guest night compared to the average European hotel stay. This reduction is part of Bob W's ongoing efforts to scale sustainably across Europe, with ten new locations set to open in 2025.

The company's latest impact results reveal a 31% year-on-year decrease in emissions per guest night. Total emissions also fell by over 9% compared to 2024, thanks to improved data collection and reporting accuracy. A typical stay at Bob W now produces 3.78 kg of CO₂e per night, significantly lower than the European benchmark of approximately 12 kg CO₂e.

Bob W has offset 100% of stay-related carbon emissions since 2021, amounting to 1,979 tonnes of CO₂e. The company’s new live impact site provides transparency on the environmental footprint of each stay, utilising the Lodging Emissions & Guest-night Impact Tracker (LEGIT) developed with Furthr, an environmental consultancy.

Co-founder and CEO Niko Karstikko stated, “The hospitality industry has a transparency problem. Our latest results show that it is possible to scale across markets whilst reducing the emissions intensity of each stay.”

Bob W's sustainable approach includes using recycled materials, powering stays with renewable electricity, and collaborating with local businesses. As the company continues to expand, it remains committed to providing detailed environmental information and maintaining its lower-impact operating model
