The new K-drama series "Boyfriend on Demand," starring BLACKPINK's Jisoo and South Korean actor Seo In-guk, is now streaming globally on Netflix, featuring Cebu's stunning beaches and world-class establishments. Filmed in February 2025, the romantic comedy follows a young woman exploring a virtual dating service, with Cebu's tourism offerings playing a central role in the narrative.

The series, spearheaded by the Philippine Department of Tourism (PDOT) Korea Office, highlights the Filipino warmth and service through scenes featuring local tourism frontliners and hospitality staff. Tourism Secretary Christina Garcia Frasco emphasised the importance of showcasing the Philippines' breathtaking destinations and the professionalism of its tourism workers, stating, "Through the continued collaboration of our overseas offices, local stakeholders, and industry partners, we hope to welcome more travellers to discover the diverse experiences that the country has to offer."

Seo In-guk, who has been involved in several tourism-related initiatives promoting the Philippines to Korean audiences, further strengthens Cebu's visibility among Korean viewers. The DOT continues to target the Korean market through joint promotions with airlines, travel agencies, and advertising campaigns. Last year, South Korea was the Philippines' largest source market, with 1,346,301 South Koreans visiting the country, accounting for 20.76% of total international arrivals.

"Boyfriend on Demand" premiered on 6 March and is currently ranked No. 4 in Netflix's Top Shows in the Philippines, underscoring Cebu's appeal as a premier destination for Korean travellers
