CAL celebrates the launch of A350 flights to San Francisco

China Airlines has started flying its newest long-haul aircraft, the Airbus A350, to San Francisco.

The twin-aisle jet was deployed on the trans-Pacific route from Taipei on 14 May, marking the first time CAL has flown the A350 to the US. Previously, the aircraft operated to European destinations including Amsterdam, Vienna and Rome.

China Airlines is also increasing the frequency of flights it operates to San Francisco. Following the recent addition of new Thursday and Sunday flights, taking the overall service to nine per week, CAL will add two more weekly departures from late June, for a final total of 11 flights per week.

Taiwan’s national carrier configures its A350s with 306 seats in three classes: 32 in business class, 31 in premium economy and 243 in economy. It currently operates five A350s, with five more expected to be delivered by the end of 2017.
