Civitas Capital Group has provided a US$386 million construction loan to Flag Luxury Group and Unicorp National Developments to develop the InterContinental Orlando.
The luxury hotel will feature 700 rooms on International Drive, near Walt Disney World and Universal Orlando. Facilities will include multiple dining venues, 105,000 square feet of meeting space and a six-level parking garage. Other amenities will include a conservatory, spa, fitness centre, club lounge and swimming pool.
Austin Khan, Managing Director and Head of Investments at Civitas, said the project aligns with the company’s focus on hospitality financing. He cited the developers’ experience, financial strength and favourable market conditions.
Orlando welcomed 76.7 million visitors in 2025, making it the most-visited destination in the US. Chuck Whittall, President of Unicorp, said the hotel forms part of a multibillion-dollar masterplan. He added that the development would create jobs and attract business to the area.
Construction is scheduled to begin in early 2027, with completion expected by late 2029. Florida-based FINFROCK will serve as the general contractor, drawing on its experience in large-scale hospitality projects.
Paul Kanavos, Chairman and CEO of Flag Luxury Group, said the company aims to set a new standard for luxury on International Drive.
The InterContinental Orlando will reflect the brand’s evolution, combining upscale amenities with culturally immersive programming. The property aims to become a flagship for the brand in one of the world’s leading hospitality markets.
