Club Med unveils luxury resort in Koh Samui

Club Med has announced the opening of its first Exclusive Collection resort in Thailand, located on the northern coast of Koh Samui. Scheduled for the second half of 2028, this marks the brand's return to Thailand 40 years after its initial venture in Phuket. The resort will feature 303 rooms and a private beach over 200 metres long, just 25 minutes from Koh Samui Airport.

The new resort is part of Club Med's global expansion strategy, which includes upcoming locations in Malaysia, South Africa, Indonesia, and Canada. The Koh Samui project will be operated under a Hotel Management Agreement with Central Group Capital, which has invested through its 10 billion THB fund.

Bruno Courbet, Club Med's Country Director for Thailand, Indonesia, India, and New Markets, highlighted the resort's role in redefining luxury travel. "We see an opportunity to set a new standard of luxury through our pioneering spirit," he said, emphasising the blend of boutique privacy and cultural sharing.

The resort will offer upgraded guest rooms, new dining concepts, and signature programmes like the Kids Club and Amazing! Family. These initiatives aim to enhance the guest experience by integrating local cultural elements with modern amenities.

The collaboration with Central Group Capital underscores the long-term potential of Thailand's tourism sector. Stéphane Maquaire, Club Med's CEO, noted the resort's significance in their portfolio, stating, "This exclusive property on Koh Samui's private beach is an exciting expansion."

The resort is expected to boost both international and domestic tourism, providing premium all-inclusive experiences and creating local employment opportunities
