Cox & Kings, the world's oldest travel company, has officially relaunched in Australia as part of its global expansion strategy under the A&K Travel Group (AKTG). This move marks a significant milestone for the company, which was acquired by AKTG in 2019, as it seeks to bring its culturally immersive travel experiences to the Australian market.
The relaunch introduces a refreshed brand and a new website under the positioning "Guided by Curiosity," reflecting Cox & Kings' commitment to offering journeys that provide deep insights into the history and culture of each destination. Debra Fox, Chief Sales Officer – Trade and Managing Director for AKTG, UK and APAC, expressed enthusiasm about the expansion, stating, "We are building on an extraordinary legacy, whilst shaping a travel experience that is both seamless and deeply enriching."
Cox & Kings boasts a comprehensive global network with offices and partners in over 100 countries, focusing on regions such as the Indian Subcontinent, Central Asia, South America, and Europe. The Australian relaunch will initially emphasise Small Group Tours, with Tailormade Journeys to follow later in the year. These tours, averaging 14 guests, offer travellers access to expert guides and unique experiences, with 90% of tours featuring at least one guaranteed departure date.
In addition to expanding its product offerings, Cox & Kings is committed to responsible travel practices. Under the AKTG umbrella, all tours support Abercrombie & Kent Philanthropy, aiding communities and conservation efforts in visited areas. Jennifer Charlton, Managing Director of Cox & Kings, highlighted the brand's ambition to thrive in key global markets, including Australia and the United States, whilst maintaining its heritage and relevance to today's travellers
