EF Go Ahead Tours has launched its "Unpack Once" collection, a series of weeklong, single-city tours across Europe, designed for travellers seeking deeper cultural immersion. The tours, which begin in March 2027, respond to a growing trend among travellers who prefer staying in one hotel for the duration of their trip. According to research by EF Go Ahead Tours and Qualtrics, 53% of travellers find this approach appealing, surpassing other factors like cost and ease of planning.
The new collection features over 80 itineraries, with tours in cities such as Amsterdam, Barcelona, Dublin, London, Paris, and Rome. Each tour includes centrally located hotels, smaller group sizes of 12 to 28 people, and access to hard-to-book landmarks like the Anne Frank House and the Tower of London. "Our Unpack Once tours are designed for travellers who want to go beyond the highlights and truly experience a destination," said Lael Kassis, Vice President of Market Innovation & Development at EF Go Ahead Tours.
These tours are priced from $2,899 and include day trips to nearby destinations, offering a home base for further exploration. The itineraries are crafted to maximise the weekends that bookend travellers' paid time off, allowing them to enjoy 8–9 days abroad using just five days of leave. This approach caters to modern travellers who are balancing busy schedules with a desire for meaningful exploration.
The "Unpack Once" tours aim to provide a slower pace of travel, allowing participants to engage deeply with local culture and cuisine, creating lifelong memories
