EkoStay, a rapidly growing vacation home brand in India, is positioning private villas as the ideal solution for the emerging trend of 'calmcations'—holidays focused on rest and privacy. As India tops global wellness destination rankings for 2026, EkoStay's expansion into nature-rich areas aligns with the increasing demand for restorative travel experiences. The company, established in 2018, now manages over 160 villas across more than 15 destinations.

The concept of a calmcation contrasts sharply with traditional holidays, prioritising slow mornings and unstructured time over packed itineraries. EkoStay's villas offer travellers a private space to unwind, away from the hustle of conventional hospitality. "The holiday is no longer about the destination. It is about how rested you feel when you leave," said Husain Khatumdi, Co-Founder of EkoStay.

In 2026, EkoStay plans to expand its portfolio with a 40-villa boutique cluster in the Nilgiris, including Ooty, Coonoor, and Kotagiri. The brand has also entered Karnataka with the Forest Cube Villa in Chikmagalur and launched new homes in Nashik, Wada, Igatpuri, and Lonavala. Varun Arora, Co-Founder and CEO, noted, "Our expansion choices are a direct reading of this demand."

EkoStay is also enhancing its services with AI-driven personalisation and smart lock integrations to ensure seamless guest experiences. As wellness travel continues to gain momentum, EkoStay aims to provide well-managed homes across emerging leisure destinations, catering to the evolving needs of modern travellers.
