Embraer has announced the delivery of its 2,000th E-Jet, an E195-E2, to Azul Linhas Aéreas, Brazil's largest airline by destinations served. This milestone highlights the success of the E-Jet programme, which has become one of the world's top three commercial jet families since its inception in 2004. The E-Jets have been pivotal in transforming the airline industry by enhancing passenger comfort and operational efficiency.
The E-Jets family, comprising models like the E170, E175, E190, and E195, as well as the newer E190-E2 and E195-E2, has served over 90 airlines in more than 60 countries. The fleet has accumulated approximately 48 million flight hours and transported over 2.85 billion passengers globally. Arjan Meijer, President and CEO of Embraer Commercial Aviation, remarked, “The delivery of the 2,000th E-Jet is an extraordinary milestone for Embraer and for the global aviation transport industry.”
Azul Linhas Aéreas, a key operator of Embraer aircraft, has significantly contributed to regional connectivity in Brazil. Since its first flight in 2008, Azul has operated over 140 E-Jets and was the launch customer for the E195-E2 in 2019. John Rodgerson, CEO of Azul, stated, “Receiving the 2,000th E-Jet, which also marks our 50th E2 aircraft, is especially meaningful to us.”
Embraer's E-Jets have enabled the company to expand beyond regional aviation, securing a strong position in the global small narrowbody segment. This achievement underscores Embraer's role as a leading manufacturer of commercial jets up to 150 seats and Brazil's main exporter of high value-added goods
