Emirates is elevating its onboard dining experience by offering a diverse selection of chocolates to passengers across all cabin classes. Celebrating World Chocolate Day, the airline revealed the meticulous process behind sourcing, crafting, and serving over 64 million chocolates and 26 million chocolate desserts each year. This initiative is part of Emirates' commitment to providing a unique culinary experience for its global customers.

The airline collaborates with renowned chocolatiers and premium chocolate manufacturers, ensuring a variety of flavours and textures are available throughout the year. Cocoa is sourced from esteemed regions in South America and Africa, with a focus on quality and sustainable production practices. Doxis Bekris, Vice President of Culinary Design at Emirates, stated, “Our chocolate desserts are never created in isolation. We look at the destinations they’re travelling to, the flavours customers enjoy in different parts of the world, and the premium chocolate that best complements those ingredients.”

Emirates' culinary team, consisting of 250 pastry and bakery chefs, crafts over 120 different chocolate desserts annually. These desserts are tailored to reflect regional tastes and seasonal ingredients, offering passengers a familiar yet globally inspired experience. For instance, Mediterranean routes may feature chocolate paired with fresh berries, whilst Asian destinations inspire combinations with tropical fruits like yuzu.

In addition to in-flight offerings, Emirates' premium airport lounges provide First and Business Class passengers with an evolving selection of curated chocolate desserts. Each cabin class has its own distinctive chocolate experience, from decadent desserts in Economy to elegantly plated creations in First Class, ensuring a memorable journey for all travellers
