Hamburg - the second largest city in Germany. Authentic travel / Shutterstock.comNox Mobility, a Berlin-based company, is set to launch its first night train service between Hamburg and Munich on 23 March 2027. The service will operate three times a week in each direction, with stops in Bremen and Augsburg. This initiative is part of Nox Mobility's broader plan to establish connections between 100 European cities by 2035, positioning overnight rail as a viable alternative to short-haul flights.
The new service will feature individual "Nox Suites" for passengers, offering a large seat, a table for work or dining, ample luggage space, and power outlets. At night, the seat converts into a lounge position, providing two metres of space for comfort. However, the fully private "Nox Rooms" for one or two people, initially promised by Nox, will not be available until 2029.
One-way fares for the service start at $69 (approximately €65). The southbound train will depart Hamburg at 9:22 pm, stopping in Bremen at 10:30 pm and Augsburg at 7:35 am, before arriving in Munich at 8:14 am. In the reverse direction, the train will leave Munich at 9:20 pm, with stops in Augsburg at 9:51 pm and Bremen at 7:20 am, reaching Hamburg at 8:27 am.
This new service marks a significant step in Nox Mobility's vision to enhance the appeal of night trains across Europe, offering a comfortable and efficient travel option for passengers.
